The Reader Problems Book Tag

Hello loves!

Today I am bringing you another tag in my blog! I found this tag over on And on She Reads (Erika really has some awesome tags over on her blog) and I immediately wanted to do it haha.

I hope that you guys are doing well and that life isn’t too hectic at the moment, and if you’re not I’m sending you love and hugs through the internet!

Let’s get into the questions shall we?

You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?

I have taken to participating in readathons to help me choose which books to read next but if I wasn’t doing that then perhaps a random number generator would be the best way as otherwise I would just pick up my most recent purchase all the time lol.

You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?

It depends on the book to be honest. Sometimes I DNF after a couple chapters if I know that I just won’t enjoy it.

The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?

I don’t think so. If I did decide to do it then I think I would just pick up a whole load of smaller books or quick reads to get through more books before the end of the year. This year however I am smashing my goodreads goal so yay for me haha.

The covers of a series you love do not match, how do you cope?

OK, so when I saw this I thought that I wouldn’t care if my books didnt match but then yesterday I went to a bit of effort to find the hardback of The Mime Order so that it would match my edition of The Bone Season because I know that I am going to love this series.

Everyone and their mothers love a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?

I would most likely tweet into the voice and hope that someone felt the same as me lol.

You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?

This has happened to me and I just put the book down for a moment to regain my composure and then I kept reading lol.

I have also cried in public because of a book before so…

The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?

I have quite a good memory for the plots of books so I should be alright if I ever get in this position, that or I would just look up a summary because I do not have time to reread an entire series haha.

You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely day no when someone asks?

I am bad at confrontation but I would like to think that I would be able to just say no in a nice way. However, I am more than happy for people to borrow my books so this shouldn’t be a problem!

You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over the reading slump?

My typical advice is to pick up an old favourite so I would probably do that. As well as maybe picking up an “easy” book to read that’ll get me back into the flow of reading and enjoying books again.

There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many fo you end up buying?

I’m not the best at keeping up with new releases so I might actually be ok. However, now that bookshops are open I might not be as good as I was able to be over lockdown haha.

After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
It depends I guess. Sometimes it takes quite a few months and other time I buy a book and pick it up straightaway.
