Another Autumn tag that I have gotten in just in time lol. I was tagged by Stephen so make sure to go and check him out, and read his answers to the questions as well!
As per usual, we are just going to get straight into it today…
In fall, the air is crisp and clean – name a book with a vivid setting
The Devil and the Dark Water, Stuart Turton.
This is the same answer as Stephen but I agree! The setting of this book was so vivid, I could literally imagine myself on the ship with all the wonderful characters as the mystery unfolded.
Nature is beautiful but also dying – name a book that is beautifuly written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.
The Switch, Beth O’Leary.
This book is so wonderful and deals so well with the topic of grief that it actually made me tear up when the characters were being vulnerable and talking about their experience. As someone who has dealt with grief in my personal life I related to it and Beth O’Leary was simply so skilled when she dealt with it.
Fall is back to school season – share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.
SPQR, Mary Beard.
I love this non-fiction. I am still, very very slowly making my way through it and I have learned so much!
In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend some time with the people we love – name a fictional family/household/friend group that you’d like to be a part of.
Camp Half Blood!
I mean, who doesn’t want to be part of camp half blood? I used to want to be a kid of Poseidon or one of the archers of Artemis because they are so cool but as I’ve grown up I have decided that I am most likely a child of Demeter or one of the minor goddesses.
Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside – share a book wherein somebody is telling a story.
Not sure.
Honestly, I just can’t quite think of anything.
The nights are getting darker – share a dark, creepy read.
The Doll Factory, Elizabeth Macneal.
This book was very creepy, especially whenever Silas was involved. Plus, because of this it had a dark vibe which made it perfect for October.
The days are getting colder – name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.
The Ship of Shadows, Maria Kuzniar.
This books is so wonderful and heartwarming! It’s just absolutely incredible and I think that everyone should read it.
Fall returns every year – an old favourite that you’d like to return to soon.
The Song of Achilles, Madeline Miller.
My boyfriend and best friend have recently read it and this has made me want to read it again so much more. Even though it will most likely make me cry.
Fall is the perfect time for cosy reading nights – share your cosy reading accessories.
My duvet/a blanket.
I read in bed so naturally I need a blanket or my duvet.
