What are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading a couple of books at the moment.
I’m still in the process of reading SPQR by Mary Beard and let me tell you that it is a very slow but rewarding process (especially for my nerdy heart).
I am reading The Doll factory by Elizabeth Macneal in a readlaong with some of book blogger friends. It is very interesting and I am very excited to get into the story more as it develops but it seems a very apt one for the month of October.
I am also reading Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee because I am part of the Middle Grade Marvels book clubbed that is our book of the month for October.
What is your favourite ‘can’t leave the house’ activity?
I mean reading is a very obvious answer for this question because that is a very addictive hobby that I will gladly stay at home to do whatever the plans I have made are (especially if I have a review due or a blog tour coming up).
Also, binging something on Netflix or Amazon Prime as well as watching movies on Disney+ of Netflix or Amazon. essentially watching something on any and all of the streaming services.
A book you’ve been meaning to read forever?
I actually think that pretty much all of the books on my TBR I have been meaning to read forever!
But, I think the one that has been on there the longest has been The Starless Sea, Erin Morgenstern
An intimidating book on your TBR?
The Binding and The Bone Season because they are both so big and I know that they are very hyped books and I don’t want them to disappoint (although I am sure that they won’t).
I recently bought both of these, The Binding at Waterstones with one of my many book vouchers that I had left and then I bought The Bone Season (in hardback!) at a really cute second hadn’t bookstore in Stirling when I was visiting my friend. In fact there were two hardback copies so me and her both have the book now!
Top 3 books on your TBR?
Shadow and Bone, Leigh Bardugo
Children of Virtue and Vengeance, Tomi Adeyemi
The Flat Share, Beth O’Leary
Recommend a long book?
Clap When You Land, Elizabeth Acevedo
It is just over 400 pages and in my mind that is a long book because I generally read shorter books.
But, I do think that everyone should read this book because it is simply wonderful and I really loved it. If you want to see my full review, you can see it here.
Recommend a short book?
The Beast and the Bethany, Jack Megitt-Phillips
I love this book a lot, I was on the tour for TheWriteReads a little while ago and I loved it so much. It’s a very fun Middle Grade about a Beast who lives in an attic and the man who looks after it.
You can read my post for the blog tour here!
What book do you plan on reading next?
The Wolf and the Water, Josie Jaffrey I’m on the blog tour for this book and I have received a fun, signed physical copy and let me tell you that it is beautiful. The wolf on the cover is so cool and the fact that it was signed made me squeal in excitement when I opened the book when it came through my door.
Children of Virtue and Vengeance, Tomi Adeyemi because I read the first book a little bit ago and Ir really want to read the sequel before I forget what was going on in that world. Plus, I loved the first book so I hope to read the sequel after I’ve read any arcs that I need to.
