So, we have another tag to do today and I am very exited for this one because if you don’t know like most teens a couple of years ago I loved Percy Jackson so much and am still obsessed with it. And omg I cannot wait to watch the Disney+ series that is coming out and I don’t think that you will believe me if I tell you that I actually squealed in excitement when I watched the announcement video.
I was introduced to this tag by the lovely Ellie over at Read to Ramble and I immediately wanted to do this tag as, like the Musical Theatre tag it combines two of my interests.

So without further ado, let’s get into the questions!
Percy Jackson: your best/favourite book of the year
While I am over halfway through the year now (It’s currently August) my favourite book so far is definitely The Book Thief, by Marcus Zusak. I mean it emotionally destroyed me. I just don’t think that I have enough words to express how much I adored reading this book, so thank you Pages of Achilles for organising the read along that I joined forcing me to finally read this book as it it has been on my TBR for ages.
I recently found out that Marcus Zusak has written another book and I want to go read that now, becasue his writing is actually incredible!
Full review here.
Annabeth Chase: a book where you’re in awe of the author’s genius
This is slightly different because it’s not a fiction book ….
I can fell your horror through the screen as I write this.
SPQR, by Mary Beard. So while I have learnt most of the history last year the insights that Beard brings to it are incredible. In addition, she makes it easy to understand the complicated world that was the late Republic (it’s filled with controversies and back stabbing e.t.c. A WiAH episode will definitely be coming for it soon). Please, please go read this book if you love history because it is just incredible, but it is very thick omg I’m still not finished with it!
Grover Underwood: a book you love that’s under-hyped
Warrior Cats, by Erin Hunter.
So, this book series was what I read before I read HP and is what got me into reading. I remember reading this with my friends during junior school, so I was about 7 and I just loved this story all about cats in the wilderness. I even once tried to write a fanfic of it (what was 7 year old me doing?). I was even lucky enough to meet the author and have a book signed.
However, I love this book and think that more people should read this, especially kids.
Luke Castellan: a book that you thought you’d hate but didn’t
A Game of Thrones, by George R.R.Martin.
So, I’ve actually read all of the books in this series that are out and loved them. But I couldn’t actually tell you what happened in half of them because so much went on.
But, I went into the first book thinking that I would hate it and honestly I fell in love with it. I remember reading half of one of these books in a day one summer, that should tell you how obsessed I was with the series
Chiron: a book that will always feel like home
Harry Potter, by she who must not be named.
I wont go into much detail about this book because of the recent controversies , but this series kind of defined my childhood so… while I recognise the problems I know that it will also always hold a place in my heart.
Ruby Redfort, by Lauren Child.
I talk about these books a lot so you must know how much I love them by now. If you don’t, then where have you been?
Percy Jackson, by Rick Riordan.
These books again hold a massive place in my heart because it got me into classics and made me more interested in Greek mythology. Also, it’s just such a wonderful book series and will always pas make me so happy whenever I think about it.
Tyson: a book with a sibling relationship you adore
Fangirl, by Rainbow Rowell.
Again, I know that Rainbow Rowell has some issues as well but I love the relationship between Cathy and Wren. They are just such a well written pair of twins that are extremely different from each other, but who love each other none the less and stick with each other through the thick and thin.
Thalia Grace: a book where time froze when you read it
The Tattooist of Auschwitz, by Heather Morris.
I read this book in less than one day just sitting in my room and honestly I didn’t realise how quickly time was passing as I simply devoured this book. It’s amazing and you need to read this stunning piece of literature.
Nico di Angelo: a well-loved book you love too
The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Colins.
I love this book so much, and it is one of the few books that I have on kindle (I do have the other two books in physical copy though). Can you blame me for loving this book as much as I do, so I will Stan Katniss until I die.
Calypso: a book you’d be marooned on an island with
Look Into My Eyes, by Lauren Child.
Another Ruby Redfort book, gosh. This book simply just makes me so happy and would give me comfort on a desert island. And that’s all I have to say on the subject.
Rachel Dare: a book you predict you will give 5 stars
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, by Benjamin Alire-Saenz.
So, I am reading this book for a readathon and am very excited to read it! I just think that the premise of this book is wonderful and I’ve heard great things. I’m very excited to read this book.
Little update I have read this book and have given it five stars, so I predicted well!
Jason Grace: an upcoming book you’d get hit by a brick to read now
The Ship of Shadows 2, by Maria Kuzniar.
Again, it must be obvious by now how much love I have for the first book (I also got my physical yesterday and omg it is so pretty!!). i cannot wait to read the second book as I really want to know what happens to the crew of the Ship of Shadows.
Piper McLean: a book that you loved that someone convinced you to read
The Hobbit and LOTR, by J.R.R.Tolkein.
Again, a classic book that I read because the book was forced upon me. However, I love these books and I actually feel like I am due for a reread soon, but we’ll see as I have so many books that I want t read in the next month. Follow my instagram to see if I do or not.
Leo Valdez: the funniest book you’ve read
The Beast and The Bethany, by Jack Meggitt-Phillips.
This book had me cackling in my room as I read it, it is honestly so funny and perfect for kids. I just loved it so much. I will have a full review out on the 28th so keep your eyes peeled for that (I’m not the blog tour for this as well so I was kindly gifted a copy by egmont books).
Hazel Levesque: an old book/book you read a long time ago but still love
Rebel of the Sands, by Alwyn Hamilton.
I haven’t read this book for a while but I remember that I loved it so much when I first read it and again, I’m pretty sure thatI need to do a read of this book soon! Again, follow my instagram to see if I do.
Frank Zhang: a book you were afraid to reach the end of
The Book Thief, by Marcus Zusak.
You’ll already know that this book destroyed me, but I was afraid to reach the end because I knew what was coming and I knew that it would make me cry. And it did, lol.
Reyna Ramirez-Arellano: a book everyone hates but you love
Girl Online, by Zoella.
Ok, so love might be the wrong word but I was fully obsessed with this book when it came it and for so long it was my comfort book. But, now. I don’t really like it as I’ve grown up since I last read it.
I also know that most people hate it, so please don’t come for me in the comments.
Octavian: a book you would punch without hesitation
The Children of Blood and Bone, by Tomi Adeyemi.
This is because I loved it but it betrayed me. I thought that it was going one way and it just killed my hopes for some of the characters and the endings that they got. I really need to read the sequel to this ASAP, I even have it with me at home so there’s really no excuse.
Full review here.
Percabeth: a book with the best romance
Under A Starry Sky, by Laura Kemp.
Ok, so again you guys must know how much I love this book and the sweet , fluffy romances in it so I’m just going to leave it at that. My full review can be found here.
Percy Jackson, by Rick Riordan.
